Our Wines

2010 Albariño

This is our first vintage of Albariño as well as our first crop of Albariño fruit. This Spanish variety is well adapted to the Dunnigan Hills’ climate and soils and has resulted in an exciting fruit forward wine. Wonderful hints of grapefruit and nectarines and hints of mango and grassy undertones make this wine very enjoyable. This Albariño has a pleasant acidic finish. This wine is a perfect match to seafood or pasta.

2010 Sauvignon Blanc

The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is full of fruit flavors. Green apple, tangerine, and pineapple flavors are abundant. There are also hints of pear. The finish of this wine is clean and smooth and has just a hint of honey and some very nice mineral nuances. We discovered that this fruit developed an intense flavor profile at a relatively low sugar level. As a result we harvested according to flavor and made a wine with only 12.6 % alcohol. This has resulted in a wine that is very enjoyable and easy to pair with a variety of foods.

2009 Sauvignon Blanc

This delicious wine is light straw in color. Aromas of citrus are pleasing to the nose and flavors of lemon and a hint of Bartlet pear are equally pleasing on the palate. This wine has a bright, smooth finish that will pair nicely with a variety of foods.

2010 Chardonnay

The 2010 growing season was exceptionally mild in the Dunnigan Hills, and thus led to this fun and complex Chardonnay. This wine is a light straw color full of apple, pear, and vanilla aromas as well as a hint of nectarine. On the palate the fruitiness continues with citrus, green apple and vanilla. The finish is clean and bright and is medium in length. We suggest pairing this wine with grilled fish! Silver Award recipient at the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

2010 R3 Dry Rosé

The 2010 R3 Dry Rosé is a rosé of a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. The final blend this year ended up being 59% Grenache, 28% Syrah and 13% Mourvedre. This wine is a fun one to make from the grape growing end as we decide to harvest when we believe all three are at their peak of flavors. This means we do a lot of tasting in the days leading up to harvest. We pick the grapes, weigh the amount of each variety and crush them together. The result was a wine that is bursting with cherry, pomegranate and rose petals. One can also find apricot, peach and guava on the finish. While this wine is easy to approach it is also rather complex in its flavor profile. This rosé is a serious wine that will be at home by the pool or a great accompaniment to a pizza or even Thai food.

2009 R3 Rosé

This exciting Rosé is a blend of 56% Grenache, 29% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre. The fruit was harvested at its peak flavor profile and blended together before crushing. This wine has bright aromas of passion fruit and with citrus overtones. Its finish is smooth and has hints of pomegranate.

2009 Merlot

This Merlot has lovely aromas of raspberry and cherry that are complimented by hits of spice and leather. The palate is full of ripe plum and berry flavors with a touch of anise. This wine has full round tannins that fill the finish. Like our previous Merlots, this wine will be a pleasant pairing with a savory roast or hearty pasta dish. Gold Metal recipient at the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

2008 Merlot

This Merlot is a deep ruby red in color, and its aroma is bursting with ripe berries and a hint of vanilla. Raspberry and dark cherry flavors dance on the palate.

2007 Merlot

This Merlot from our initial vintage was grown in our Hucke Ranch swale block and really showcases the terroir of the Dunnigan Hills. It is dark ruby red in color and has an abundance of ripe blackberry and plum aromas. The palate is bursting with ripe cherries and dark raspberries, all of which are balanced by smooth tannins on the finish. We recommend you enjoy this wine with a ripe cheese or savory grilled beef.

2009 Syrah

This Syrah is ruby red in color and has lots of fruit on the nose. Ripe plum and cherry notes come to mind along with hints of spice and anise. The fruitiness continues to please on the palate with raspberry and strawberry flavors as well as a little spiciness in the finish. The structure of this wine is bold and built around pleasant tannins.

2008 Syrah

This Syrah has a deep red color and aromas of plum, blackberry and a hint of rose petals. Ripe cherry and berry flavors continue on the palate and are accentuated by the soft balanced tannins.
